Part 1: Transforming a Sprinter Van into a Mobile Med Spa – The Ultimate Van Conversion


Imagine stepping into a luxurious mobile med spa, complete with all the amenities of a high-end clinic—except it’s built inside a Mercedes Sprinter van.

From designing a sleek, aesthetic space to ensuring enough power to run essential medical equipment, every detail of this conversion was meticulously planned.


In this two-part series, we’ll take you behind the scenes of how we built this fully functional mobile med spa, perfect for on-the-go beauty and wellness services.


The Challenge: Powering a High-End Med Spa on Wheels


Unlike traditional van conversions that cater to campers or families, this build required a unique approach.


The client needed a van that could power medical-grade equipment for up to 8 hours a day—without relying on a generator.


Why no generator?

  • Too loud for a relaxing spa environment

  • Inconvenient – requires frequent refueling

  • Doesn’t align with the luxury aesthetic


Instead, we designed an advanced power system that could handle all the spa’s energy needs while keeping the interior stylish and peaceful.


Smart Energy Solutions for Van Life: The Key to Off-Grid Power


To keep this Mercedes Sprinter van running efficiently, we used:


  • Six lithium-ion batteries – Connected to the alternator for charging while driving

  • Future-ready solar panel setup – Allows for additional power generation later

  • 12V & 120V system integration – Supporting both standard van components and high-energy salon tools


By balancing power efficiency with practical usage, we ensured that the van could operate independently for an entire workday.


From Concept to Reality: The Vam Conversion Design Process


Every van build starts with a rendering ( Click this link here to see an example layout)—a digital blueprint of the final design. For this project, we worked closely with the client to ensure that both function and aesthetics were at the forefront.

Of course, once we started building, some things changed—like swapping a hanging chandelier for a more practical, low-profile lighting solution.


These adjustments were key to making the van functional without compromising style.
